I am 5 months post op. I having been reading on here from people who had the surgery around the same time and they are losing 50-60lbs. I have not lost that much and my weight has not changed in a week. Am I eating too much?

B-3 oz of cottage cheese

s- protien shake

l- 3-4 oz of tuna fish or chicken

s- 4 oz of yogurt

d- 3 oz of a lean meat

e-1/2 hr walk

My biggest fear is coming true. This won't work for me. Need advise.

How many calories are you eating each day?  Please don't compare yourself to how others are losing because it will drive you crazy.  Keep following your doctor's plan and you will be fine.  I had many stalls but eventually everything has worked out just fine.

Around 600. I was never given a calorie limit.

I think the thing you're doing wrong is comparing yourself to other people.

How much liquid are you getting in every day?

My surgeon's office recommends a minimum of 64 ounces per day.  I think you might see an improvement in your numbers if you drastically increase your fluid intake.

Ditto GeekMonster's comment.  Totally up your water to a minimum of 64 ounces, 80-90 is even better!

In addition to upping your water, try to also up your exercise.  a half hour walk is good when you're early out, but at 5 months you should be doing things that challenge yourself and build muscle.  If you don't have much time for a longer workout, try some exercise videos.  There's a lot available on youtube that have circuit training and are only 30 minutes long.

I agree with Amy, you definitely should be exercising more and pushing yourself.  I had several stalls early on, but since I have continued to amp up my exercise it has not been an issue and I have been losing steadily.  Make sure your protein intake is at a minimum between 60-80 grams per day too.  Good luck!
