Is it okay to allow myself a scoop of Wholly guacamole once a week

I am about to hit my soft food diet. I usually have

2 protein shakes (dinner and breakfast)

1 3ounce serving of cream (campbells soup) including water makes it 3 ounces

sometimes a half of cup of chicken broth

But today I let myself have a scoop ( about 2 ounces) of wholly guacamole. My NUt is off today so I cannot call her but do you think this is okay to do. I do it once a week. Well I didn't the last two because I was on a liquid diet. But allowed myself to have it for a snack today.

I don't see why not..

it's a healthy fat, but I don't think

Id have it more than 1x a week since your in the

beginnings of WL, as it has a fairly high cal count for practically no protein.

Well if that is the case I probably will not have anymore. I know its high in fat and I know its the good fat but I still wnt to keep my cal intake down for now.  Thanks.

I was told that avocados was a healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat. Thats what we need to help from losing our hair, the good fats! Such as olive oil, peanut oil, avocados, nuts and seeds (walnuts, pumpkin seeds and flaxseed) and fish (slamon & sardines)!

Avocados may give us a shiny coat, I mean hair, but it won't help or prevent the hair loss caused by surgery.  The condition is called telogen effluvium, and it's a crap shoot who gets it after surgery.

Fat is an important part of a healthy diet, so I would.

Avocados are a very good choice full of healthy fats.  You get great satiety from them which will balance things out well.

The only caution is be careful what you mix to make guacamole.  You can quickly routine a good thing by adding bad things.

You could also try making part of a higher protein meal. Depending on what your diet plan specifies, you could have guacamole with scrambled egg, refried beans, or whatever else you're eating at this stage. I don't like guacamole that much, but I love avocado, and I often have a bit with some cubes of tofu, soy sauce, and a little powdered seaweed. I have found that since surgery, I can't eat more than a tiny bit of it, but I definitely enjoy what I have! Good luck!

I second those above who say that avocado is a healthy fat, and so it should be fine in moderation.

I've heard that once we get to solid foods, especially early out, it's important for digestion that they not be too dry.  I've seen some people suggest mixing a bit of mayonnaise in for moisture, but I bet adding a bit of guacamole instead would be even better both healthwise and flavorwise.

Also, remember what everyone says about protein first.  If you're wanting the guacamole by itself, it may be best to have your protein first, then have a small spoonful of guacamole afterwards if you have room for it.

Avacado is a wonderful thing, but I would recommend making your own guacamole to make sure there are no hidden sugars or other bad things.  I blend some with onion and peppers and a little sour cream for a delightful chicken sauce.
