i passed the soda machine at work and didnt even look at
I have been off Soda for a month now. I know for some its like "okay whatever". But Soda is a big deal for me. Dr Pepper was my drug. I would drink like a 12 pack a day. I had a massive soda addiction. I honestly think that getting off soda is what contributed to me losing so much on the pre op diet. Good bye soda........
Same here, I drank 32-128 oz of diet coke almost daily for 30+ years. Quit cold turkey about a year before surgery. I miss it from time to time or at least cokes in general.
I tasted a diet coke the other day and it was just way too sweet for me now.

^^^ What Stacy said
My breakfast before surgery included a Diet Dr. Pepper or a Diet Cherry Coke. Followed by 3-4 more throughout the day. I tried a Diet Coke in September. It doesn't hold the same appeal for me anymore.
I have started drinking carbonated waters recently like San Pellegrino. I don't seem to have any side effects (cramping, excessive gas, etc.), but it's definitely not for anyone who is newly sleeved. It's more of a treat than an everyday routine.

It's funny - out of ALL the things I don't miss (coffee/sweets/chips/fried foods) - eh no big deal ...but diet soda is one I really do miss! Sometimes when I'm at a restaurant with my family or friends I'll be thinking..."OMG that diet coke looks so good!!!!" I've been so tempted to take a sip, but I hold myself back. Goodbye, Soda

I was addicted to diet Dr. pepper and told myself it was diet so it wasn't bad. I knew I had to give it up so I haven't had anything carbonated since August. Honestly the 1 month was the hardest. Every once in awhile I'll get a craving for one. I just tell myself NO. It's the one thing I know I can't even take a sip of or I will be off the wagon completely. Good Job!! Keep it up!
