I will miss you cornbread.

Have been doing pretty well in the months leading up to surgery and, as I am coming up on 4 weeks away, have not been too terribly tempted to have food funerals. However, we made cornbread to go with a delicious homemade beef stew for dinner. This is definitely a food funeral. Hot buttered cornbread is like crack to me. Limited myself to 1 piece but know with certainty I cannot let this one back in.

I had chili when I was out on Saturday and it came with cornbread.  I had a bite and thought, "Huh.  I guess I haven't actually missed this."  It's sort of strange the foods that I thought I would miss terribly, but now I find myself not caring about even 8 months post-op.  Like pizza.  I thought I'd really miss it every day.  And ice cream too!  But I find that they pretty much never cross my mind. So strange.

Holy crap, Gwen.  I ate chili on Saturday and it was also served with cornbread. I took a bite as well and didn't enjoy it because it wasn't slathered in honey butter and was therefore dry.  It is interesting how our tastes change after VSG, and I'm happy for it.
