also i burp after every swallow of drink i take.

No hiccups for me but I belch constantly. I started belching the moment I woke up from surgery. Basically every time I drink as well.  Also quite a bit of gas out the other end. As I told my dad this morning walk sip belch fart are my days right now.

BOO! Did I scare ya? Seriously, not sure about the hiccups but are you maybe swallowing air with every sip? Trying blowing out before you sip so that you swallow less air.

This sounds fairly normal to me.  Immediately post-op, I used to get hiccups (really loud ones - lol) every time I consumed anything.  A little further down the road, I would still get them as my "getting full, so better stop now" signal.  For me, this has mostly gone away, although they still pop up every once in a while.  Burping is really common, and may continue for a long time but maybe not at the same level.

Congrats on your surgery!!

It sounds like you might be drinking too much or too fast.  Try to take smaller, slower sips.

Some people also have better luck drinking from straws, even though a lot of plans claim we shouldn't use straws.  So that might be worth trying.

I got the hiccups the day after surgery, and after they took me off the pain meds. It only happened that one time and I haven't had them in 22 moths. Burping and farting, however, have become part of my lifestyle now.

I had always heard it was related to the vagus nerve which innvervates the stomach very near the diaphragm and is impacted during surgery. I am hiccupy too, particularly if I eat too much. I'll have 3-5 hiccups and then stop. My daughter (a normie) is the same way. You are still so soon post op that perhaps it's related to swelling?

I was thinking the same. Could be swelling just aggravating the vagus nerve.
