How to Stop?

December 1st was my three month anniversary. I've lost over 70 lbs since September 1st and I'm down over 80 since I started the Pre-Op diet. I'm about 30 lbs from my goal and I hope to hit it by the end of January.

So, my question is, how do you stop when you hit your goal? ... I know, rotten problem, right? It's not like I can eat more... not without feeling like crap anyway.

Just add carbs? Or keep going until I level out on my own?

Do you track your food? How many calories are you consuming? Once you figure that out I'd increase my calories till you're not losing anymore. Maintenance I've heard is tricky with many people becoming lax & going back to old habits. Any carbs you add should be veggies or a small amt of fruit. I'm still in weight loss mode., so it'll be awhile before I have your problem. Lol

Not really... but I eat about the same thing every day.

An egg with some shredded cheese for breakfast.

Chicken salad and cottage cheese for lunch.

2oz of protein and 2oz of a veggie for dinner.

With a frozen Popsicle or sugar free jello pudding for a snack at night.

Sometimes I go nuts and have a 2% cheese stick after work.

you slowly increase your calories adding healthy fats and good carbs till you find the right balance to not gain or lose

The best advice I see is to add 100 extra calories a day the first week and see what happens.  If you keep losing, add an additional 100 calories a day the next week.  Don't introduce crap into your diet just because you're done losing weight - keep eating healthy proteins and fats and keep avoiding processed and refined carbs.

Since I don't want to add more food at any given meal, when I reach maintenance I'll be adding a 4th meal to my days.

If you need to, what Gwen says will work. But. Most people can eat more by the time they get close to goal, and since you CAN eat more, you WILL. Most people fall off the exercise wagon around the same time too. And since you are lighter, you burn less anyway.

Most people don't need to do anything, they just find a new normal. If you need to intentionally increase calories, you can. Some that go that route, especially if they add carbs, have a hard time stopping.

Don't get ahead of yourself. No one here ever kept losing until they disappeared.
