Time off of work/Fast recovery

I have a sedentary job.  I probably could have gone back at one week, but I hurt myself lifting my toddler and needed another week to heal for that.  I plan, God willing, to return to work Monday, which would be two weeks minus a day.

I had my surgery on Mon 12/08/14 and was back to work the following week but I work from home.  I recovered very nicely and was off the pain meds by the Friday 12/12 and today is the end of my first week back.  I feel really good and am on my recumbent bike 30-40 minutes per day now.  I would imagine if you commute to work they want you to be off longer.
