I tend to go through phases and seasons.

But, my go-to is mushrooms and cabbage in the fridge.

So versatile, cooked or raw a great compliment to any protein and any seasoning or style of cooking.

I can go straight up American with just salt, pepper garlic or swing it Asian, Italian, Mexican, Spanish, Indian, Greek etc.

Frisco...I have heard you have a great Cabbage and Chicken Recipe. I found a picture, but not the recipe. Can you tell me how to make it? Or can anyone else, who has made it? :-)

I do a lot of cooks illustrated recipes. 2 in particular that I love are the weeknight/speedy version of chicken paprikash (noodles for others, none for me) and their slow cooker beef stew (again, no potatoes for me but I include them for others). I am also making a modified chicken lettuce cups that uses less/no sugar than most recipes.

I bought a bunch of spice mixes from Penzey's and Trader Joe's. I use them on boneless, skinless chicken thighs, pork loin, and fish. They help keep things interesting.

I really love chicken thighs. Sometimes I get the bone in, skin on ones because that's delicious, but sometimes the boneless ones are just easier and faster. The other night, I sliced up a lemon in wheels, quartered a few shallots, and added them to a baking dish with a generous glug of olive oil. I used some of my spice mixtures and the whole thing was great.
