I am currently 8 months out from VSG and I have lost 143lbs from my consult weight thus far (130 from surgery day).  To say I am insanely happy with my decision to make this change in my life would be underselling it by a country ******g mile.  I don't have a decent before picture because I pretty actively avoided any pictures while I was at my heavier weights, unless I could literally hide in the back of a group shot and awkwardly poke only my head up.  This pic was taken a couple weeks ago and depicts one of the awesome changes I have made- pursuing a strength training program called strongman.  I'm gearing up for a novice competition in April and I've never felt more confident in what my body can accomplish.  There are days where I literally forget what a struggle it was to be over 300lbs, but when I find that happening I take a moment to remember and be grateful that I had this opportunity and took it.  I'm still learning things every day but the best advice I have is to follow your program and do things that may take you out of your comfort zone until you find something you love to do to stay active and engaged in what your body needs to be/stay healthy.  Insert badass deadlifting pic HERE:

So awesome!

Just the other day I was thinking about how much extra weight I used to carry around.  I'm not sure how much is on that bar, but think about strapping it to your back and walking around with it all day -- that is what we used to do!

Great job!

If you feel like quitting, think of why you started.

This goes to show you that you must work out.. Lifting is the key to not have extra skin...well at least as much.  Thanks for the picture!
