Has anybody given themselves heprin injections after the sleeve?  I need to start tonight and am pretty nervous about giving to myself.

Having a nurse do it in the hospital was much easier then me giving to myself.  did you give them in your legs or stomach?

I never had to give to myself but when I received them in the hospital it was in the belly.  Good luck, you will do just great.

I gave my own in my stomach, just chose a spot opposite to where the last one was each time. I hated taking them but I knew it was necessary. Good luck!

I did.  It was super easy - just a quick jab in the tummy.

I also had to do this.  Had a friend start mine but I took it over.  My tummy was bid enough I had plenty of room 😋. Lower tummy and different place each time.  I couldn't believe I could do it bit just get in front of a mirror and do it

In the belly. Couldn't even feel it! Your belly will look terrible from the injections for weeks so don't worry about that.

I do this whenever I have any surgery and have to go off my blood thinners. My best tip to anyone who does this ...when there is a little "air bubble" in each syringe. Make sure to inject the Heparin or Lovenox until you hear the air bubble go through. This pushes the med in all the way and you don't bruise very much at all. Never put pressure on the injection site afterwards, just wipe with your alcohol prep swab and you're good to go.

The nurses gave me shots in the hospital...in the arms.  I could not wear short sleeves for awhile :)  I would recommend what everyone here is saying and do it in the belly.

Mine were in my stomach. I'm super squeamish around needles, so I was really nervous, but the needles were very fine and I hardly felt it. Just gather up a handful of stomach flab and POKE! Not too bad at all.

thanks for all your advise, in the hospital they gave them in my thigh and really no pain so that's where I started doing them.  I will try the belly either tonight or tomorrow.  I was surprise that I could actually do it.
