Hi all. My name is Kala and I having my sleeve on 02-08-16 and am going on day 4 of my 3-week pre-op diet. I have been having stomach cramps, feeling tired, and depressed. Although a 7lb WL in 3 days does boost my mood a little. The shakes are starting to get old fast, but I am doing it. It may not always be with a smile, but it is going. Anyone else having surgery in Feb?

Hi Kayla! I'm having surgery on 2/15. Currently into second week of four week pre-op diet. The first four days were hardest for me, but it's getting better. It's all I can do not to have even a bite of bread, pasta or pizza. But I'm afraid if I have even a bite, I might not stop. I keep telling myself there is not possibly one thing I could taste that I haven't had and keep reminding myself how much better I feel already... Not just from getting all the junk out of my system, but the control I'm taking over my body and what is going in my mouth. I won't lie, I'm laying in bed right now with my tummy growling!

Im having trouble getting all the shakes down, and it's not because I don't like them ( I ordered quite a few online with fun favors like pumpkin pie and peanut butter cup). I'm sure not drinking the shakes is as bad as if I ate.

Hang in there. It will get better in a couple days. Ill be be thinking of you!

Sorry about spelling your name incorrectly. Didn't catch the spellcheck change until I submitted!

I'm also having my surgery on 02/15 !!!

I only have to do a 2 weeks pre op diet and I'm already dreading but my motto is that all the pain is worth the great things to come.

Hi Kala,

Welcome to the forum.  I hope you find it as informative and supportive as I have.

The pre-op diet is the hardest part.  It does get old fast!  But keep your focus on the big picture.  It is so worth it in the end when you will be healthier and have more energy! And any weight you lose before surgery makes the surgery safer.

best wishes,

Carol

Ditto what Carol said, the pre-op is the worst part.  If you can get through this and the first month after surgery, it will be smooth sailing from there hopefully.  I was SO hungry on the pre-op diet that I probably could have eaten a whole pizza by myself, LOL.  Just remember that you are changing your life for the better and it does get better.  Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

I feel like we are long lost best friends!!!  My name is ALSO Kala (I have never met another Kala spelled like us) and my surgery is 2/8/16 as well!  I'm on day 3 of my pre-op diet as well.  I just posted yesterday that I am starving!  What kind of shakes are you drinking?

Hey, Kala. I had my sleeve created on February 12th so I'm right behind you. I hope things have gotten somewhat easier to manage for you.
