Just over three weeks out and I've made quite the scene at my in-laws over....well nothing. I'm just in a terrible mood and am cycling through wanting to cry and punch babies. All the Xanax in my arsenal couldn't stop me.

Now I have to go back in and apologize for something over which I have no control.

I'm five weeks out and I know... I know. I have been a mess since surgery. It's getting a little better now. I have been anxious. I even went to the ER a few weeks ago because I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin with anxiety and my bp shot up scary high.  The ER doc gave me some xanax. It was the first time I had ever tried xanax. That stuff is a little too good.

I cry at everything. sad tears, happy tears, I've broke down sobbing several times.

Before surgery I was the epitome of calm and cool and patient. Since surgery, totally different story. I didn't feel like myself until sometime this week. It's getting better....maybe it's the wellbutrin my doc put me on...maybe it's just time.

Good luck to you and hugs.

It is hormone dumping-- it will take a little time, but it will get better. Maybe explain to the family why it is a little more challenging at the moment and why you are such an emo.

It will get better.  Some surgeons use steroids during surgery to reduce swelling.  As you lose weight the hormones that are stored in the fat is dumped back into the bloodstream.  Crying is ok.  Might want to let some else take care of the babies til this passes.

I once tried to explain to someone what hormone dumping felt like..... "Think the worst PMS mood swings ever and multiply it by a zillion."  I'm sure your in laws will understand

Man, I get it. I hope you're feeling much better now. Hormone dumping is one thing, but if you're like me, you probably ate those feelings away. We can't do that anymore, so I guess we're going to have to find other outlets. Best of luck to you!
