It will likely make you uncomfortable for quite a while. But by a year out, it should be fine. I drink zero calorie carbonated beverages all the time.

Thank you.   I like to have a coca cola life made with Stevia occasionally.  Still in the worry stage about making this decision.  I made a bad decision with the band.

I was banded back in 2009 and had it removed in 2014 due to food getting stuck. My surgeon's office doesn't even do bands anymore but he has said that for some people they work and others they dont. On 8/2/16 i was sleeved and I will tell you i'm just 3 weeks out and i'm already more than happy with my decision.

Thank you so much for telling me this.  I had an emergency band removal and was not thinking about getting a revision so this ha**** me quick and trying to make that decision if I'm going to have the surgery and if I do the sleeve or RNY.  This info helps as a fellow bander.  Keep us posted how you are doing.

Doesn't it increase the size of the sleeve on time?

No. Your stomach has an opening on top, and another on the bottom. It just can't stretch anything.

There are good arguments for not drinking diet soda. But stretching your stomach isn't one of them.

Interesting. I was tald the oposite. What are the other arguments for not drinking diet soda then ?

Thanks

The bubbles can be irritating. If they don't bother you, though, it's not a problem.

Some say artificial sweeteners can trigger cravings for real sugar. They don't for me. If you don't get cravings, it's not a problem.

There is no nutritional valuein diet soda. It's all chemicals from a factory. Some object to that.

In a perfect world, I would drink water from a mountain stream, with birds chirping on my shoulder. But diet soda is delicious, and helps me stay away from crappy food.

I should try it. I dont know if it irritates my sleeve. It should be considered liquid? Right!
