Hi guys!!!! I'm new around here, but have been a lurker for a while. I had Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy done on October 17, 2014, and for the longest time I ws afraid to admit to anyone outside of my family that I had the surgery done for fear of judgement. Well now that my two year surgiversary is approaching, I'm finally more comfortable with my journey and I'm slowly becoming comfortable with opening up an sharing my story. At my highest I was 314, on my day of surgery I was 290, and this morning I weighed in at 160.0 lb****ting my surgeons long term goal weight, yay! For my personal goal, I plan to lose 30 more, but right now I'm just so happy that I've finally met my surgeon's goal. I'm excited to be a part of this community, and can't wait to be involved!

Welcome!  Congratulations on making your surgeon's goal, and good luck on continuing to lose your 30 more.  My doctor had a much higher goal than I wanted too, so I had to push to get to the goal I wanted.  Now that I'm there, I love the new me, and will work as hard as I can to keep it off.

Your fears are about to be realized, 'cause I read your post and I'm passing judgment on you!

I pronounce you guilty of first-degree success in a very difficult undertaking to improve your health.

Your sentence: You're to be committed, starting immediately, to reaching your personal goal weight. Furthermore, your health will continue to improve with every pound you lose.

Sorry I had to throw the book at you.

I had surgery October 6, 2014, so you and I are almost at 2 years together.  I haven't been able to get past my 170's (goal was 160), but I am so much happier now than before surgery, so I don't really care.  Prior to surgery, I never would have revealed my weight.  Now I find myself telling random people, LOL.  Welcome to the forum and good luck to you.

Nice to meet you!  You have done really well with your weight loss. I'm glad you are more comfortable sharing at this point. I think you will find it helpful to continue to connect here on regular basis. I am about as far out from surgery as you are and have a little more I would like to lose. Keep the path, you will get there!
