Do you count your protein drink towards your daily fluids?
However, my surgeon told me last week that I can't count my protein drinks as fluids. grrr. That means I won't even come close to getting my fluids if I don't count them.
Do you count yours?

I also wanted to add....liquid isn't just to keep up from dehydrating...its needed to wash out the fat and impurities our bodies are burning off....it is vital to keep your kidneys healthy. This isn't and "I can't"...this is an "I must...drink my fluids"

I do understand the importance of drinking. I just have a very hard time doing so and am trying anyway I can. My question was in reference though to if you count your protein drink towards your fluids.
I mix mine with water so have always counted it.
Sure.
Why did he say you couldn't?

He said that protein drinks are considered meals, not fluids. That we don't absorb it as a fluid?
Just didn't make sense to me and I wondered how many others out there have been counting it? I'll admit however, I am not a surgeon.
Just wanted to see what others had to say on the subject of counting protein drinks as fluids.
