Thankk you, and you know I must be feeling better when my smar ass-y-ness comes out.
Your surgeon should have or will be giving you a list of things you can eat and a "schedule" of when you can start eating different things. The programs are so different from Dr. to Dr. that it's hard to say what you'll be doing and when.
I was on liquids etc. for about a week and a half after surgery and then on "soft foods" for a couple of weeks after that. Liquids can be: creamed soups, protein drinks, frozen SF popsicles, etc. Soft foods for me were scrambled eggs, string cheese, cottage cheese, yogurts, refried beans, tuna, chili. However, the time lines and the things you can eat are like I said different from Dr to Dr. Check with him or your nut on what you'll be eating and when.

As Sharyn said, liquids are the choices for up to 4 weeks post op. Depending on your surgeon's instructions, that could be shorter or longer. I think most people don't get any solid food for about 30 days. This is to protect your healing surgery. You will be expected to supplement with protein drinks of some sort (surgar free)
Once your surgery heals, most foods will become available, and it will be up to you to make good choices, lean protein, low carbs, very little sugar, and fruit and vegetables as you can tolerate. Some can cause digestive problems and dumping sydrome for some.
