I was wondering if anyone was diagnosed with PCOS before having WLS and how you felt after having the surgery.  My periods use to be able to set your watch to them until a few years ago and now I can go 2 to 3 months withone having one.  I was wondering if after having the surgery and losing the weight if that would help make them more regular.

Did not have PCOS, however, I was about to enter menopause when I had my surgery 2 yrs ago.  My periods were all over the place and very heavy.  Approximately one yr after surgery, my periods stopped completely.  Have not had one in a year.  :)  Yay!

Hey lollipop,  If you attend the support group each month, I am usually there.  I am always referring to things that I read and learn off this website!  Hope your journey to surgery goes smoothly and you are in good hands with Dr. Novak.  He really cares.  Not only did he do my RNY, but he also removed my gallbladder in February and repaired a hernia just a few weeks ago.  At this most recent surgery, I told him that we had to stop meeting like this. Lol.

Yes Dr. Novak does really care! I have gone to 1 of the meetings, it was the one done right before Memorial Day weekend.  I wish I could attend each one but I work Mondays and do not get off until 7:00pm.  I found it impressive that with his busy life and schedule that he comes to the meetings.  I would defiently recommend him to anyone.
When I had my scope done on a Thursday he called me on Saturday to see if I was ok and how I was doing after having it done.  I was shocked that it was HIM that called not  a receptionist and it was on a weekend!  When he did that I was like yup defiently found the right Dr.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2000 but knowing the symptoms, I had it starting when I was 12. I had alreaady had a partial hysterectomy i***** So my periods were a thing of the past.

I had also gone thru menopause pre-op as well....

Longest time I went without a period was 7 months, then the next year it was every 2-3 weeks...I went on the bcp after that.

I used to have a period every 3-6 months.  Now, every 32 days like freakin' clockwork.

I think I am the only one in the world to be diagnosed with PCOS who is INCREDIBLY  regular and INCREDIBLY  fertile.  Periods every 28 days and  seven pregnancies. So  I don't get fewer  periods  and I  grow chest hairs and  face whiskers!
