One year today!

I can't believe it's been a year since my surgery! It really seems like yesterday I was complaining to my husband that it was cruel that they allow a person (let alone a fat, starving one!) go so long without food or water. I was scheduled for a 2pm surgery which was long enough to go without a sip of water but for whatever reason, they did not take me to the OR until almost 5:30. I woke up and was never that hungry again!

I started at 218 and was down to a lowest of 119 but today I'm 122. I've been bouncing between 119 and 123 for a couple of months. I've been eating junk I shouldn't and I'm one of those with a million excuses but I'm trying to stop. I just did a purge of the pantry yesterday so there is not really anything that should tempt me so I'm hoping to stay on plan today (so far so good!) and for lots of days after. It's very easy to fall back into all the bad habits so I really have to work on my head.

For a year, I have tried to post pictures but no matter what I try, it just doesn't work for me so there must be something wrong w/ my computer. I just uploaded a new picture onto my profile so feel free to check it and all the rest out!

WOW! You are an inspiration. You started almost around what I am I was 227 when I started got vsg done 2/25/13 now I'm 209. I hoping to get down to 130. I hope so in a year! That would be fabulous!

You just got to get back to your first surgery basics, protein first. You can do it!

Good luck!!!

Congrats on your one year. You have done amazing. I think hitting target and learning to maintain is hard. I know I have been struggling with this. Our bodies have changed now we need our brains to change as well.

Happy Surgiversary!  Congratulations on your successful journey.

My personal maintenance plan is to stay within a 3-5 lb range. I pretty much weigh myself daily and then adjust my calories and or diet accordingly. So far it's been working for me but I hear you on training ourselves to avoid the junk and not make excuses for making unhealthy choices. I guess that is why it's called a wl journey...because it's a long long and winding road.

All the best,  Muriel
