Band to Bypass - Crazy Scale Victory and what a difference it has been.
I am 7 weeks post op Band revision to Bypass.
I have lost more in 7 weeks with my RNY than I did in SEVEN YEARS with my wretched Lapband. That's right - I only lost 27 pounds with the band and I tried so hard. I have now lost 28 with the bypass in 7 weeks.
It isn't just the malabsorption either. I was always hungry with the band. My favorite way to describe it was "choking on top and starving on the bottom." The band never touched my hunger. It was NOT head hunger. I know that, because now I actually have head hunger. No more choking, no more reflux, no more "productive burping", finally feelings of fullness and weight loss. Thank God.
I am so thankful for this new opportunity and to have the tool I should have chosen in 2005.
Yay! I am in the same position as you...had my band removed two weeks ago and revised to RNY. I did well on the band at first, but then had horrible acid reflux and had to have all the fluid removed...then gained all the weight back. I, too, and so happy to not have the choking on top and starving on bottom. I wish you much success!
Love this post sherrie- so glad your doing well!!
im also a band to bypass revision(with a bit of a hiccup on the way) I've also been pleasantly surprised by how much 'easier' this has been- no I'm not saying this is easy I'm just saying easier than the band-keep up the good work your doing awesome!!
