Pre-Op Liquids, Check. It's my turn now!

Tomorrow morning I check for surgery and I'm too excited to sleep. 

I've learned a lot about myself in the past 5 month since I started this process but most of it has come in the last two weeks...on liquids.. I just want to say to anyone that is struggling with pre-op liquids or about to start that YOU CAN DO IT!

Was is difficult?...At times, yes. In fact day three was a nightmare for me. But then it got easier. I found my stride.

Was I hungry at times?...Of course. But it's just a feeling, it's not in charge of my life. I got all the nourishment I NEEDED from the protein shakes, broth, etc.

Did I miss food.?...You bet I did. But it's not the end of the world; I'll eat again and in time I'll enjoy a lot of my favorites (in smaller portions).

Did I cheat?...Well......... While making my son nachos the other night, I licked a tortilla chip!  ~shrugs~ 

Thank you everyone who shares on this site. I've only posted a couple of times but I've spent a lot of hours reading your stories and posts. Thank you, thank you.

Good luck to you tomorrow and i'm sure you will do awesome. I am starting my pre-op diet on new years day and I'm scared, nervous and am sure I will go through a lot of the same things that you wrote about. Can't wait to follow your journey on here.

I've seen your posts and was wondering if you had started liquids. You are right, you can and will do it! Full steam ahead. ;)
