hospital stay questions for post op VSG

I made it. Friday was surgery and I am supposed to.gome tonight !  I am up walking the hallways every few hours.  The VSG pain is very similar to when I had the band done. It's really not that bad..the incisions and my abs hurt the most which means no laying on my side yet...probably for a while:(

My question is this: to fellow VSG post ops or revision to sleeve post ops. What did you eat on your tray at the hospital. I'm not hungry at all which scares me because I haven't eaten since Thursday!

The apple juice is good diluted with water, the smell of their chock broth makes me want to hurl and the jello is just soso

I've only drank half the juice and probably 1/3 of the jello. Should I force myself to eat it?

Help please!.

I stayed for two nights in the hospital and the only thing I ate was 2 pieces of the jello on the second day. I did use the crystal light for the water but I used 1/2 packet and it took a long time for me to drink. It wasn't until about the 4th day where I felt I could eat something.

I am glad you said it is like when you had the band done.  I will be doing the same thing and have wondered it post op would be the same.  It wasn't a big deal for me then.

I had the SF popsicle and a few sips of chicken broth.

Wow. Thanks everyone.  I kept telling myself...If you don't want to eat...then don't do it. I just didn't want to pass quality quin the floor for lack of nutrients but I'm doing fine. I'm home now and so glad! Not sure if any of you have had this happen but my monthly visitor arrived on surgery day in full force. Sorry to the guys reading this post. lol.

I know...tmi...but another thing i noticed is that i haven't passed gas anally nor had a bm yet. i am burping though andi think that's why the doc sent me home. Was this normal for any of you?

Tuesday I start full liquids...like cream of chicken soup...cream of mushroom, etc. I can't wait to see how real restriction feels now!

By the time I left the hospital I was having BMs.. they were pathetic loose watery ones, but BMs nonetheless.

If you're constipated, I highly recommend adding a daily dose of Miralax to a protein shake each day.  Much better to take care of that before it gets serious!

Regarding restriction, I didn't really start to feel it until I was eating solid foods at the 6 week mark.

I hate autocorrect. I meant i didn't want to pass out on the floor from lack of nutrition. Lol
