Doing well with MyFitnessPal for 5 days now.

I have been using MyFitnessPal for 5 days and a breakfast.  I am doing a pre-pre-op diet, and am currently 8219 calories under what would be considered normal for maintenance, according to the app.  I am really happy with how I am doing, except for the caloric breakdown.  I am averaging 30% carb, 30% fat, and 40% prot.  I have a protien shake for breakfast and dinner, but I have lunch at the cafeteria so choices are minimal.  I am staying right around 1500 calories per day, and walking for an hour.

Do you think I am doing well enough for the pre-pre?  I know that during the regular pre-op, I will be having even less, and I want to be prepared.

Thanks

Sounds like you're doing well, Bert!  By the time surgery rolls around you'll be a MFP expert

It sounds like a great start. I've got over 700 consecutive days logging every bite of food on MFP, and besides the surgery, it's been the single most helpful thing to losing and keeping the weight off.

A couple of things about MFP. Do not eat back exercise calories. I never have. And if you log activity, ignore how many calories it says you burned. They sre way off, by at least double.

Great work so far.

Thanks Grimm,

700 days is really impressive.  I hope that I can be that committed to using it.  Shouldn't be too hard with only eating little bites.  It is good to learn about them overestimating calorie burning.  I never eat up to those, but instead count them as good boy points so I am further under the recommended amount.
