So the Doctor called today and I had a good talk with him. I case is being review this month by the Bariatric review board for the VA in Columbia MO. This is the second step in the process to the surgery!!  While talking with him he answered a bunch of my questions and  even is helping men get a dietician earlier the they would normally do because I am so far out for the surgery and want to lose weight before I start the MOVE! program, which is a 2nd requirement of the bariatric program.

So I started a new diet today. I am drink 1 Special K Protein shake for breakfast, one for a AM snack, one for lunch, and one for afternoon snack, and them a salad for dinner.

I am tracking everything that goes in my month, I was up to over 10,000 calories thru www.myfitnesspal.com and the above meal will net me 1250 calories for the day with 324 net carbs. It is more carbs than I wanted in a day but that is what I need for now. I am going to try and find me some protein shakes that have low carbs in them, but for now I get 30 per 10 fl.

It is likely more expensive than the ready made ones, but IsoPure has shakes that have like 6 carbs for a 50 gr protein shake.  That is a 12 oz shake.  If you mix it with water, all you would have would be the 220 total calories and 6 carbs.

They come in a container of 1 lb or 3 lbs and are pretty tasty.

My favorites are double rich chocolate and peanut butter cookie.  I mix them with unsweetened original almond milk.  Yum.

Nectar protein (you can order online or get at the vitamin shoppe) is a great protein. Or even EAS Advantage carb control ready made shakes or Muscle Milk light. Both of those are at your local food store or pharmacy. You will feel lightheaded and dizzy and cranky the first few days as you reduced your food intake.  It's a good thing you are here and reaching out for help. I wish you the best of luck !

Slim Fast High Protein shakes have good stats and are pretty easy to find. 180 calories with 20 grams of protein and only 4 grams of carbs.
