It sounds like the " curse of the all you can eat sushi" has set you up for excessive eating.

The gift that keeps on giving, with cravings and urges for 'just a little more' and keeps going.

Track your food

Write out a food plan the night before and stick to it exclusively for a few days to get back on track.

Hang in there .... You have made much progress ... This is a minor setback.  You can right the ship!

Since you are already familiar with 12-step program, I might suggest a couple of visits to OA (overeaters anonymous).  I use it in conjunction with my WLS tool and it's pretty awesome.  Food addiction, compulsive overeating, is as much a disease as alcoholism and drug addiction.
