Nervous about my insurance approval!

I had the VSG in OCT 2011, and don't regret it for a minute. My friend had the lap band placed on the same day. 

I had no post-op issues and lost weight steadily, initially losing more but after about six months I was averaging about 3-5 pounds a week. To date I lost 180 pounds. 

My friend initially lost about 3-4 pounds a week, and as the band stretched out stopped losing altogether. She ultimately had the VGSB done in 2013 after losing only 25 pounds with the band. 

Since your insurance may only pay for one proceedure you may want to reconsider your choice. I am sure there is some contact in your doctor's office who will be better able to go over this with you again.
