I don't know if I read it here or saw it on YouTube but it was something about that time before surgery when you almost feel like you are on death row and each meal is your last.  Yesterday was my birthday and so I had some cake.  With Friday being my first appt.  I feel like I have a week to eat my favorite things or never eat them again.  Is this a normal feeling?  when I made the appointment she said it is never too soon to start your pre op diet.  Meaning control your eating NOW!  Of course I feel hungier than ever too.  I'm sure that's just mental.  It's gonna be a long week.

Way to go on your first appointment Friday.  Keep a note pad close and as you think of questions to ask ,write them down. This will help as when you go the first time you will be overwhelmed and forget half to them LOL  Its normal to be nervous, take it one day at a time and make sure the surgeon has a great pre-op program and post-op program.

Keep us posted on how you are doing

I can relate, I started my liquid diet today, 22 days before my surgery. The Dr only required me to do 14 days,  but I decided to start now anyway. His nurse told me I need 100gm of protein a day for my height/weight, so I'm drinking 5 - 8oz servings a day. 4oz per hour for 10 hours. It seems to be working so far. I made up 40oz of my protein drink this morning and then just put it in the fridge. Then every hour or so I grabbed another serving. I'm saving the last bit for just before bed time. Only about 2oz as sort of a midnight snack. Lol

Good luck! You'll do great!
