No Records from the E R

When the E R Doctors said they were going to send my record of my visit to my PcP office and I go to my follow up visit yesterday they say they have not received the records, what happened to them? I went to the E R almost a month ago..

Call the ER hospital and request them again.

Guess they're kind of busy. Whenever I need records from a hospital, it is generally a project to get them. Best bet, call or visit the Records Dept. You will have to sign a Release form. Then follow up in a week to 10 days. Doctors and hospitals are inundated with requests for records. Plus, once they get the Authorization, their billing clerk has to send you a bill fist, and they have to receive payment. Unfortunately, things are not simple anymore - there are "procedures" for everything.

Here in NY almost every medical provider does Electronic medical records. Or EMR as they are called. You register and you can go on and pretty much get whatever you need. When my wife was pregnant she was getting her lab results online in like 24 hours. So maybe you can go that route as well. Just a thought.

I don't know. You'd have to call the hospital and ask. My guess is that the hospital forgot to send them.

You have to sign an Authorization. In regard to EMR, I've signed up for that and can get lab and test results online - but not actual er/doctor records - just a summary of the visit with my vitals, meds, etc.

I need copys of my Cat Scans I had done when I was diagnosed with Hernias. Looks like I will have to go to the hospital and request a copy there. I need them when I make a consult visit with my wls surgeon to do the Hernia repair..
