I've been a daily visitor here since I began my search about WLS. I read a lot but don't post very often, usually only when there is good news.   I had my RNY done in Dec 2013, so I'm now 19 months out.  I had a follow up appointment with my Bariatric NNP today and I've gained 5 pounds since my last visit 3 months ago.  I love that she sat down and talked with me for a long time today and helped me look back to see what has changed.  What I have determined is that until a few months ago, everything was just black and white.  These things I could eat, these things I couldn't.  I walked everyday, no matter what.  Well guess what, I haven't been walking, just making excuses why I couldn't.  I've been grazing around on the things I shouldn't eat, just plain facts, all decisions made by me.  I don't want to be that statistic of someone who gained all their weight back, I refuse.  So, here I go, back to the basics.  Things will again be black and white, no gray areas.  I will eat what I'm suppose to and I will exercise.  I'm just feeling the need to be accountable and to all the people out there who think they'll never have carbs or whatever, it can sneak in on your diet just a little at a time, so be diligent.

It's a lot easier when you recognize the problems at 5 pounds, rather than 50. Good luck.
