I don't want surgery, but right now if I could rip my bottom off of my body, I would do it!

OUCH...poor you.  I had a fissure once...but not bad enough to require surgery.  Poor, poor you.

Sending you lots of healing vibes

I feel your pain, literally, I'm having issues too.  Best advice is to keep on top of it by using Miralax daily (talk to your surgeon first), and I'm currently trying this product (thanks to Julie for posting this a few weeks ago):

Mayinglong Musk Hemorrhoids Ointment Cream

I just had fissure surgery on Monday!! I can't believe others are having the same problem. I had a fissure years ago and it reopened with some serious constipation at 10 days post op which was 5 months ago. Nothing would get it to heal completely. It would partially heal, the reopen again, no matter how diligent I was with miralax and colace.

The pain was so excruciating at times that I had to go to the ER. So, last week I got a second opinion and had the surgery on Monday. I'm still healing but in far less pain than before and this pain responds to pain meds very well. Let me know if you want me to keep you updated on progress. So far, I'm glad I finally did it!

This is great to hear.  I'm reluctant about surgery because I'm afraid the pain will be like the fissure pain and I don't know if I can take it through a whole recovery time.

I have had fissures on two separate occasions, several years apart. They are the most painful thing I have ever experienced. They lasted for months and months. The only way I could get them to heal (and I bought all kinds of stuff) was Neosporin twice a day. My poor sweet husband had to doctor it for me. That healed them within two weeks. The only problem was that the last one after healing caused an abscess between the "front" and "back" so now I have a recto-vaginal fistula that I have had surgery on. Don't let it go too far so that it causes even more problems.
