Left Ventricle Hypertrophy

Cross posting from the VSG board.  I had an echocardiogram yesterday and was diagnosed with this. Did some research and it sounds like it's common in obese patients, bit also scary.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  Thanks

It can be caused by obesity but also uncontrolled high blood pressure. The left ventricles are the main/forceful pump of the heart that circulates the blood. Hypertrophy can be caused by anything the forces the heart to work harder and stronger against the force. The thickening can be stalled or completely stopped if the cause is identified and treated depending on how severe it is.

Thanks so much for your response.  I don't have high blood pressure, so I'm thinking it's the obesity

Just talked to the surgeons office and I'm okay for surgery, phew!
