Years ago when I had gym memberships I would walk on the treadmill, use the rowing machines, and attend Zumba or other dance-type classes. Rather than joining a gym I don't have time to use, I am making a home gym in the spare bedroom. No commute to the gym, no waiting for a machine, no bumping into anyone in dance class who doesn't understand my lack of rhythmic direction guided by my dyslexia.

I ordered the Stamina Body Trac Glider rowing machine and Gazelle Supreme Machine which is a glider, and some padded mats for the floor. I have a couple of exercise DVDs that can be dusted off and used. I'm going to buy a set of free weights. Everything should be delivered within a couple of weeks. Time to kick this up a notch because surgery is only a tool and not an easy way out. We can only get out of this as much as we put into it. It's almost time for some sweat equity.

The mostly veggie/whole food diet has been really, really easy to follow because I started with it several months before surgery.  I get the majority of my daily protein from protein shakes or Genepro unflavored protein powder added to smoothies, soups, and coffee but I don't mind.  I like Premier Protein vanilla shakes and add flavored extracts now and then for variety.  Genepro is the only powder protein that hasn't upset my stomach.  It mixes well in cold and warm liquids/foods and one tablespoon has 30 grams of protein.

Mom and I went to the Grand Canyon last weekend.

I have found a home gym a great thing to hang my clothes on to dry.

I had one of those in my livingroom for ages. I finally got rid of it...and use the dryer to dry clothes. It's the same reason we can all buy good exercise equipment at a fraction of the cost on Craigslist on any give day.

Craigslist is a goldmine of stuff.  Too bad I couldn't find exactly what I wanted there.  If I get bored with the home gym I'll fold it up and store it away.  The motivation to exercise comes and goes every few months.  These pieces are easy to move around, which is great if we have guests and need the room as a guest room.  Right now it's just an empty room.  When guests come we have an air mattress they use.
