Three Month RNY Surgiversary

Morning OH Crew!

THREE Months?! Wowza, time flies!

I am doing well! I've lost a total of 61.4 pounds since I started my Pre-op diet. I have been more than fortunate in that my stalls have only lasted a few days, not weeks, and I am pleased with my results thus far (even if I do get whiny at times about that darn scale!)

Even though I've lost a considerable amount of weight, and I am happy with my progress, I'm hardly where I want to be. Several years ago I did low carb and was very successful, losing down to 179, and holding there for a couple of years. I guess somewhere in my brain, until I surpass that number, I'm not succeeding - because of course I'm still, after all these years, beating myself up for gaining it all (plus) back! Oh well, today is a GOOD day, so I'll just get over that, and know that soon, I'll be below that magical 179 I have in my head and on to being thin and healthy!

I don't have any major complications from the surgery. I do still have issues eating dense protein like I want to. I don't really get more than 1/2-1 oz of a dense protein in before I'm full. I can eat other, softer proteins, like egg salad and hormel chili, at the 1/2C suggested size though. I don't think it's any kind of restriction, but I do see my doctor next week, so we'll discuss it.

I do well with my water MOST days, am learning a routine to keeping the pooping on a good schedule (this is an important thing for those just out of surgery, don't be afraid of using 'help' to get that going!), and I'm keeping on a low carb NO SUGAR, tiny bites every once in a while of simple carbs, diet. I eat the protein first, have a bite or two of a veggie, and I'm done!

I am so happy I chose to do this. Even at 51, I'm not too old to lose the weight, and get more active and healthier!!! I wouldn't change it for anything!

Oh, and this happened this morning :)

Yup, I'm hoping that before Halloween I can be down to that 178.9...

Then We'll see what happens after that!

Awesome job. I'm sooo looking forward to onederland.  Onederland is my next goal - hoping to make it there before our September camping trip.  I'd really like to make it there by my next follow-up appt. on 8/31, but I'm not counting on that.  This morning was 205-206.  I know this sounds obsessive, but I step on and off a few times and take the average.  Ideally I'd like to get to about 130, would be ok with 140.  I'm barely 5'2" and small frame.  Got down to 119 with my last major weight loss of 200+ lbs. but then proceeded to gain almost all of it back.  I never did like roller coasters and I really hate the weight loss roller coaster.  That's why I had surgery to get off that ride.

Surgery Date June 3, 2016

HW: 329 W at first consult 290. SW 238, LW 128, CW 139

I love roller coasters... but not the one that involves weight!

Hopefully you'll get there soon!
