I am having a difficult time finding chewable vitamins for after surgery.

Here is what I am looking for;

Multi Vitamin

Calcium Citrate with Vit D

Vitamin D3

B12

B Complex

I have found the multi vitamin, calcium citrate, vitamin d and b12 at Bariatric Advantage.  Where else should I be looking?

Thanks

you may not want B Complex in a chewable form.  One of those B's (I think it might be B1, but I'm not sure) tastes *horrible*.  Even the current B Complex capsules I take smell bad because of it.  Right after surgery, I got a sublingual B complex, and I had to quit taking them due to the taste.  At least with the capsules I just have to deal with the smell (briefly).  I can't imagine having to chew the things.

for my multis, I just buy Centrum chewables - or the generic equivalent (CVS a good generic equivalent, and they go on sale all the time)

Amazon.

Centrum has a multivitamin that is chewable.

Celebrate Calcium. Upcal is a calcium powder you can add to drinks.

I've never seen D as chewable, but the pills are so small, I don't think you need chewable.

However, don't get B12 as chewable. You need the sublingual B12 that you place under your tongue.

I found Celebrate brand the best for chewables, but tastes vary.

A lot of us have been very pleased with the Patch vitamins from PatchMD.

What surgery are you having.  I had RNY and my doc gave me an Rx - I need RX vit B - nasal - not absol=rbed because of new plumbing..  May be different with VSG.

I get it all for a $5 co=pay a month - comes in the mail.  Best ever.

I woudn't invest too mu*****hewables...you want to get off of most of them as soon as you can. I have found that most chewables just don't have the level of nutrition that we need (with the exception of B12).

So far I'm on one Flintstones multiple complete chewables once per day. This is the centers protocol. In hospital yesterday I had two doses of liquid vitamins mixed with flavored water. It was tolerable. I was very itchy on tummy and back enough so to call Doctor. He said get liquid Benedryl and dilute it. Feeling  much better now.
