Mean loser

You know how some people are mean drunks?  I'm a mean loser I think.  I was just so certain that I would be the exception and not experience the mood swings as I lost weight.  That is not the case.  All last week and weekend I just felt mean.  Snarky.  Cranky.  Like my worst PMS day.  Today is much better, feeling more high today than cranky.

Are the mood swings from weight loss a temporary thing or can I expect go "enjoy" this ride through the whole process?

You're probably going through the infamous "hormone dump." Estrogen is stored in fat cells, so when you lose a lot of weight very quickly it all goes flooding into your system, like PMS times twenty.

Hormones seem to settle down as your loss slows, so just be patient with yourself :)

Thanks for the info!  More importantly, I need to be patient with everyone else and hope they'll be patient with me

I really wanted to rip one of my employees head off. It turns out that I should have because I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

My husband and I were at Costco yesterday and it was super busy.  People were lining up for samples and totally in the way of people actually shopping.  And then were rude about being in the way. Good grief. I told my husband, "better get me out of here, I'm gonna pop off my mouth and get us both killed"

I believe this is an extreme cir****tance because I think Mother Teresa would probably want to cuss someone out at Costco.  I can't stand going to Costco when it's busy.  People act like they are giving out gold bars and not a bite of frozen lasagna or something. That was a great test of your patience and I think you did well if you didn't get in a fist fight with someone.  Don't do that to yourself again! LOL

Your mood is a result of the hormone dump that follows surgery.  Once this evens out then so will your mood!!

My husband said "embrace the rage.  It probably means you are burning fat!" Lol

I agree about the hormone dump, I'm 64 and had MAJOR hot flashes enough to get back on HRT for a few months..my skin looks amazing I wish I could take them forever!

As for the foul mood. I felt like a raging :-*tech for a few weeks but according to my family and co works I was just slightly touchy.
