Lumpy fat.

So as I lose more weight, I have noticed that the lumpy, cellulite-ish feeling has increased dramatically. I can pinch an area of skin and it feels like... idk... squishy marbles. I have always had this in my fat but lately it is actually so bad that its a bit worrisome. Sometimes the little clumps hurt, but I am pretty sure I have fibromyalgia like my mom n sister so that may be to blame for the pain... Anyway I know it's harmless, and I've researched a lot. Apparently its common and its not lipomas, which are fatty tumors. It's basically just adipose (fatty) tissue and I guess, Idk, its shrinks unevenly as we lose? Does anyone have a more scientific explanation?

hi April

I'm not sure about the science but just wanted to say you are not alone with this. I have lumpy pockets esp around my thighs and this is where I have noticed my stretch marks most as the skin sags. I just keep oiling it up and hoping for the best

Yep. For the most part we are a lumpy bumpy bunch. If you have ever been to a bariatric conference, such as the OH conference, look around. Not too many of us look like super models after losing massive amounts of weight.

Edited for a typo

It gets better, adjusts with time. At least for me. The longer I stay under 200 pounds the more my body changes and adjusts. Deep tissue massages and yoga can help some.

I fully expect to look like the saggy baggy elephant, but I'm more than OK with it....at least for now. That may change, but my goal is to just be smaller and healthier and I'll worry about the rest later

I had the slightly painful lumpy bumps in my fat too! And to some extent they are still there (just checked again ) but they aren't as obvious, and I don't think they hurt as much either...

Cellulite just ****** me off... I've finally seen a great decline in some areas, but my butt... my poor, poor butt...
