You're probably not going to like my question, but did your dietician give you instructions and a plan to follow to lose the weight and you failed to follow it?

If that is not the case short of doing a 100% liquid diet for ten days which personally would be torture there isn't really any way safe way to lose 10lbs in 10days.

Are you just getting started in the process for WLS?

Doing a fast will help. I do intermittent fasting and it takes me out of stalls. It's not easy but it works. I am currently doing a 72 hour fast.

This forum is full of us who have tried fast, fad diets to lose weight quickly only to regain back even more! Let me guess, you were put on a program to lose weight a few weeks ago and now are panicking because in 10 days you have to see your dietitian!?

Been there, done that.

Just be honest with them. Tell them it is a struggle, and why you are coming to them-you need help! I didn't get to almost 200 lbs above average weight because I was able to commit myself!?

But regardless, just start today doing what was asked of you. It won't be what was expected, but just be honest and tell them your struggles.

I would lose 10 pounds in 10 days on 100% clear liquid, no sugar.

Diet juice, diet 7 up, crystal light, broth, and lots and lots of water.

As was said by someone else, I think the course of action is to simply be honest with the dietician. Is actually losing so much weight in such a short time even healthy? Because at the end of the day, you do it to be healthier not to please someone else

If you have already lost 40 that should show commitment. I used Bariatric Advantage shakes as my pre-op diet and lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks. I assume you are pre-op. Play the game and get your surgery scheduled. Good luck!!

Losing 10 pounds a month is fantastic... I would say that it is right on track with losing weight at a healthy pace.

continue doing what you are doing and you will get there... the point is that you stuck to the commitment to be healthy. We all set goals to "lose x amount BY X date", don't get there, only to be discouraged and become emotionally defeated and potentially give up.

Your goal is to lose weight... you are doing that. Continue in the goal, regardless of the specific set timeframe. You will get there!!
