Hello Everyone!...

These have been the best 3 months of my life!.. I was lucky enough to have a text book recovery! I was back to my normal routine in 6 days and I seemed to just move from phase to phase very smoothly.

As of 5/15/11 I had lost 66lbs -- I have not weighed myself in a month but I am guessing I am somewhere near 86 Lbs lost.

I went from a size 34W to a size 24W in 3 months and I feel like I can run a marathon! Even If I still can't because of my bad hips and knee (Osteoporosis!)

I have been keeping a blog for those interested www.mcanella.com

Here are the Pics :) :)

P.S. Thanx to everyone who has offered me support during these beginner months!

Congratulations Maria on your success. And thanks for posting your 3 month update.  I have my surgery on Tuesday and need to be reminded of where I could be in 3 months. Just curious, what do you attribute your 'text book' recovery? Are you younger?

PS- I have one of the shirts you are wearing but it doesn't fit . .  at least not right now.

 Hi Ann,

My Text book recovery I believe was because:

1. I am young (only 25 yrs old)
2. I was up walking 10 minutes after they brought me into my room after surgery! I sucked up the pain and walked as much as I could
3. I used the spirometer 10x Every hour (I have a history of Asthma and Did not want my lungs to be compromised)
4. I started supplementing before surgery

and last but not least! I was just very lucky! Everyone's body reacts differently to surgery.

Funny about the shirt! hehe most of my clothes are from Lane Bryant (Even though I stopped fitting into LB a while ago and had to shop online. Not anymore :)

P.S. Best of Luck on your surgery :)

Thanks Maria! I wasn't sure about asking your age- you look like you could be a teenager! Not much I can do about that. I am 38. I will try and walk asap and used the spirometer as you did. What did they give you for pain? I too started supplementing before surgery so maybe that will help!

I had a Dilaudid pump for the first 24 hours after surgery (Bc I am allergic to Morphine, but they usually use Morphine :)

I know i look like a teenager hehe.. That is a good thing though! Because when I am 40 ill look 25 (hopefully)

Glad to share! I wish you the best!

Oh and 38! you are still a baby!... Ill keep in touch to see how you are doing after surgery!

Maria,

You're doing so well!  Textbook recovery is a very welcomed thing and I'm glad you've experienced that.  Congratulations and keep taking those pics!  They really show how far you've come!
