Surgeon's office was pretty happy with my results, but I am also going to my PCP to go over them and get him up to speed with DS.  Can all of you lab vets please take a look and let me know how this looks?

it would be much easier if you didn't string your numbers together.  Would you please go back and edit your post to put some space between YOUR value and the reference values?  Thank you.  First glance, I see some issues, but my eyes are going buggy with all the numbers strung together.

When I posted originally it was in columns with spaces.

Your B12 is fine don't worry about the lab calling it high. Keep doing what you're doing. Are you starting up with Vitalady's recommendations or what?

I see some issues ahead with iron and the sooner you can start taking Proferrin and carbonyl iron, the better.

D3 is climbing because you're supplementing with at least 50,000 IUs of dry D3 a day, correct?

Protein markers are in good shape.

The AST and ALT are going to be elevated because your liver is stressed with the weight loss. Totally normal.

If you're taking a B-complex, you can cut back to maybe 5 days a week.

Otherwise, looks pretty good.

What does the C-Reactive Protein mean?  That one is very high, and the lab report says it is an indicator of cardiac problems.

I have been taking 10,000 units of D3, and the surgeons office wanted me to pull back to 5,000 daily (I am ignoring that)!  I'll work on getting the iron up; they only had me on 36 mg a day.

Thank you so much for your review - re-posting the numbers with better (I hope) spacing.

Hi, thanks for the new format, it makes it much easier for these old eyes of mine!

Glad you aren't following the doc recommendation to drop your D3.  I would suggest going up to Vitalady's recommendation of 50,000 IU of D now, rather than later, it's easier to keep it up with higher levels now than to have it drop taking too less ... Catching it back up is much tougher.

Yes, you definitely need to increase your iron.  Carbonyl iron and Proferrin combo is the way to go,  And adding Vitamin C improves your iron availability for absorption.  Your H and H is going to be lower post surgery, but you don't want it to go any lower and with higher doses, improve.

CRP is elevated with inflammation.  I'd say that surgery as an insult to the body is a pretty big inflammatory response.  If you have a chronic condition like Rheumatoid arthritis or celiac, it will always be elevated.  Soon it should normalize but if it doesn't go down, have your doc redraw along with sed rate and another cbc to see if you have something else going on.

I'm going to assume your sodium is normal like on the first sheet, yes?  thinking you typed out the potassium twice!

I would take more b12 myself, methylcobalamin.  How much A are you now taking?  You might want to increase that as well.

If you take a B50 every day, you might cut that down to every other day just to see if it will make a difference in your level.  Not all B flushes out of the body in the urine, so you want to watch that.

All in all, for 3 month labs, pretty darn good, just tweak a little and see how your next draw goes.

And again, thanks for changing the format!

Patti
