Nearly 1 year mini labs

My Zinc, ALP, ALT Thyroid Stimulating Hormone are high.  My vit D is and ferritin seem to be on the up (not sure why).

I've been doing 200mg of zinc a day.  I think I'll cut back to 150mg as it was below range previously.

There's an Excel sheet here showing comparison with my previous labs and this may be easier to read

Any thoughts and comments are welcome.  TIA.

Very nice!!!  Excellent albumin. Don't worry too much about the AST and ALT. Nice looking iron markers too.

I would go with 100mg of zinc every other day. I didn't see copper, but with high zinc, it could be drawing your copper down.

I should get a more complete set of labs done in a couple of weeks so I hope to have those results in a about a month (it'll have Vit K, PTH, lipid panel, etc, and I won't cut down on iron or Vit D and see what numbers I really get).

I've never had copper done - how important is it?  I take 2mg chelated copper with my iron and Vit C at night.

I'd be nervous about dropping my zinc so low - I was deficient when I started on 100mg/day - maybe I'm absorbing more now, IDK.  I definitely seem to come up with LOTS of tiny spots if I ever forget to take a dose of zinc (which is quite rare).

Shall I cut back on the B12?  Don/Vitaguy said 1,500-2,000 is fine for a DSer.  Mine's OVER 2k though - I'm on the Vitalady pre-packaged and B12 doesn't get toxic so I have no use for pills if I don't use them.

I'm not sure what to make of the elevated Thyroxine Stimulating Hormone - how big would I be if that weren't the case??  I guess I leave that be and just be grateful for it - could explain why I'm a little tired sometimes and the borderline osteopenia (I'm really gonna push to get another Dexa in 6 months though).

Thank you so much for all your advice - I really do try and apply it as best I can.

If you cut back on your B12 to 4 days a week, give the leftovers to your hubby -- one sublingual once a week.

I don't know about the zinc and the spots. Your dose seems pretty high and now your lab is too....

The dexa scan might only show change once a year. They may only authorize a dexa every year or every 2 years without a diagnosis for osteoporosis.

OK, I'll cut back on the zinc - yikes... scary stuff as I'm a little OCD about my vites!! ;-)

I'll cut back on the B12 too.  Thank you.

Ooh - I see that copper can cause hyperthyroidism.  I'll ask that they draw that in a couple of weeks - don't know if they will, but it can't hurt to try.

I think the amount of copper you're supplementing is fine but if your zinc is high it could interfere with the copper. Checking it would be a good idea.
