I cannot wait to see what the vets say. Here is a summary of what the real difference is between the two surgeries which is basically just the stomach part of the surgery.

Yeah, right?  There are some facts stated that I haven't heard any place else...I'll be curious to see what the Vets think too.

"The DS and BPD have their own particular side effects. After a meal that is high in fat, people can experience foul smelling gas and diarrhea."

Gas and diarrhea after a high fat meal??  This makes me wonder about the validity of the rest of this article.  Since when did fat ever give anyone gas?  To get diarrhea I'd have to eat a crazy amount of fat and I'd then suffer many many hours later.

I thought the same thing after reading that about fat. I have never experienced gas after eating fat. I also thought it was really strange that if he chose a WLS for himself, he'd choose RNY. This article left me really confused about this guy.

Dr. Scopinaro invented the BPD---of course he thinks it's the best. But you'll notice that he said he'd have the RNY.

The fact that Dr. Scopinaro would choose the RNY IS very interesting!

This article is over 6 years old. It may have outdated information in it. And most of the article is about the BPD without the DS portion.
