Stomach pain when doing crunches

Hello, I'm 10 years post op and still get a pain in my pouch when I do crunches or sit ups. It's a stabbing pain that lasts a few minutes and then subsides. Has anyone else experienced this problem, know what causes it, and how to fix it?

Thanks,
Erikka

Have you had a cat scan or MRI of your abdomen? It could be anything from nothing to adhesions or hernia, so really best to consult dr.

Yes, stop doing crunches for a while and consult your doctor. It could be a remnant from your operation. Please consult a doctor before anything could happen.

Crunches are one of the least effective exercises out there anyway. I pretty much never do them. There are much better ways to strengthen your core that are much less injury prone.
