Well, I was banded on Tuesday of this week and had broken through 360# prior to surgery. After coming home from Surgery I found that I had gained 4.4# of fluid weight due to the IV push during surgery. Bummer!! So this weeks weight loss actually reflects having lost that 4.4# gain from surgery day plus what I lost in body weight! All in all I am very satisfied with my progress. Right now all of my weight loss is sheer willpower as I have no fill in my band. It is getting me very excited to see what I can do once it is filled! With that all being said, here are my results to date... Ooooooooooo Raaaaaaaahhhh!! 05Oct06 389.0 - Initial Consult with Illinois Bariatric Clinic 14Jan07 385.8 - 3.2# loss since initial consult 17Jan07 383.4 - Pre-Op Consult - 2.4# loss since last weigh 21Jan07 371.2 - 12.2# loss since Pre-Op Consult 28Jan07 362.8 - 8.4# Loss since last week 30Jan07 359.6 - Lap Banding today 3.2#! loss since last weigh 04Feb07 355.2 - 4.4# Loss since Surgery date. 33.8# loss overall Starting BMI - 57.4 Current BMI - 52.4 Semper Fidelis!

This is my first Sinday Weigh-In Heaviest...287 Beginning of pre-op Diet...285 Today...275 It is slow going and a stuggle for me. I am tracking Calories, activities and nutrition on FitDay and can't understand why I have not lost more. Is it possible that my body is very efficient and uses very few calories? Last week average of 1,777 calories in; 77 g protein215 g carbs and 70 g fats. drjco

Hi John, If you keep the calories at that level, you're bound to lose, but looks like at 215 grams, your carb level is way high, which may slow your weight loss. Low carb is generally 19 or fewer grams per day. Go over 20 and it stops working. Also, most people are getting about twice the protein you're getting. Doesn't have to be shakes, food is fine. Best Regards, Dave

No change for the last couple of weeks, still at 202.6 . Need to increase my exercise but with 40 hour work weeks, school several nights a week, and trying to do some home remodeling I am happy with where I am at. Still I am below my surgeons conservative goal. Good luck to all. Hawkeye Mike

Hi Dex, I have been really busy the past couple of weeks and was in Charlotte last weekend for the NC State Mock Trial Competition with my son Billy. My weight has been hovering around the 245lbs mark for the past three weeks. Up to 249 down to 244lbs. I would really like to drop the next 15 pounds down to 230lbs so I can say "I am half the man I use to be". I have lost 26lbs overall so I can live my life fine at 245lbs and a BMI of 30. Still weight training and walking 3-5 miles a day. I am having to use the treadmill for walking after work and getting in 4 miles is a real chore even with the TV on it.J ack the wonder lab and I did 7.5 miles yesterday in the warm afternoon sun around our neighborhood. Have a good week, Tim Beginning weight (Nov. 2005): 460lbs Day of Surgery: 388lbs Last Week: 247lbs This Week: 244lbs BMI 30.4 Personal Goal Weight: 220lbs
