Pain on left side of belly button?

So I'm a week post op.  Have my follow up tomorrow.  I'm still struggling with pain and with heartburn.  I've called at least a dozen times to OWMC since Tuesday and the only phone call I got back was a receptionist telling me to go to my family dr if it was bothering me or to keep leaving messages for the nurse...well the nurses vm says she won't call back for 48hrs so i figured i might as well wait till friday...Anyways a whole other issue...but I got some heartburn stuff from pharmacist for the meantime.

Whats REALLY bothering me is this sharp pain to the left of my belly button.  My incisions are great not red at all but everytime I stand up or walk for a few minutes, bend a certain way whatever I get this horrible sharp burning pain.  Enough to stop me in my tracks and make me want to cry.

Any ideas what this is?

could be gas, could be something worse (like an obstruction) are you passing gas, and having bowel movements? if no, then you need to go to emerg.

Hey ya surgery twin!  I have that pain also.  The main incision is right there and I understand there is an internal stitch.  I find that it starts to ache when I twist in a certain way , up walking or when I need to have a bm.  It really hurt 2 days ago when I was really constipated.  A little bit of MOM took care of that and the pain has really gone down.

Thanks ladies.  Seems like one symptom can mean nothing and be totally normal or can mean something really bad...

I have yet to have a BM since surgery.  I'm passing gas ok though.  I understand pain is to be expected but holy it's just this one that's making me frustrated and wanting to cry.

Good thing my apt is tomorrow morning at 930.

Try the MOM!!  Once I got going it made all the world of difference.  I watched my bloated tummy actually deflate with the big BM.  Since then I have had 3 BM and the pain has decreased.  I was able to walk for 20 minutes today!  And took meds only once this AM for pain.  Just tylenol.

Milk Of Magnesia

" Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, a bag of chips in one hand, glass of wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride". Oh my.....  it would seem to me that an entire week without a BM would be very bad?!?!   Take some Milk of Magnesium....
