I went for my medical today... A full work up...YAY...not!

So among other things I asked about these dizzy spells and impaired/fuzzy speech post work out.... Well, she sent me on my merry way with a script for a glucose meter and test strips... She is thinking hypoglycemia..... oh goody....

However, if my sugars are not that low with the testing it could be something else and we will investigate that if need be....

Other than that, she is very happy with my progress!!! As I am too!!!

Have a great day everyone...It's chilly out there so bundle up!!!

I know how you feel.. I have been going through the same thing now for months.. my sugars are dropping so low I am passing out.  I actually broke my neck and am wearing a fancy dog collar at the moment.  Spent a week in the hospital and they are still running tests.  I have never fainted in my life so this has been a strange experience for me.  The latest solution is upping my carbs.. oh yeah..  Please let me know what comes out of your testing, I would be very curious.  Best of luck and hope you get things worked out soon.

NOt that you're able to test when you pass out, but how low have your sugars gotten to? And have you figured out what triggers you? I can never have a carb on it's own (not fruit even). Always protein first. I'm sure you know this already, but it's interesting to hear what other people go through. Had it been two hours since you ate when you passed out?

Hmmm, low blood sugar does sound like a likely culprit. I attributed mine to electrolyte imbalance. Drinking G20 helped, but that could also be the sugars in it. I do recall trying powerade zero and also feeling better... so I think that's why I decided it was electrolytes out of wack.

Hypoglycemia is a dangerous thing.  Better to check and be safe.

Best of luck. I hope you get the answers you need.

it's low, but still well within normal. My BP is around that, too.

However, if you think its low, why not try taking your bp when you drop into Shoppers Drug mart or somewhere where they have BP machines. Often, people's BP is higher than normal when they go to the doctor (cuz of stress, anxiety, etc). Wouldnt hurt to keep track of that too.

Thanks Monica!! I will check at the pharmacy this afternoon when I go pick up the meter and test strips....

I actually figured my BP would be higher that what it was because she just finished saying I was due for my girly test...lol I am not a fan of little metal contraptions!!!
