I've got a cold
Also, I'm almost 6 weeks out, can I swallow pills yet or will I have to crush them?

I took liquid children's Tylenol (what they gave me in the hospital) Drank herbal thee with lemon juice. ( add a bit of twin sugar if needed) - drink lots and lots of water.
Get better soon
I feel your pain! I have a wicked cold right now, my first since surgery. I got some Dayquil capsules and they seem to go down okay, but I'm further out than you are. I do remember swallowing some pills at 6 weeks out, though (colace stool softeners), and while they didn't feel great going down they went and stayed down.
There is also a Dayquil liquid formula, but check the sugars on it as you wouldn't want to have a dumping episode.
I hope you can find some relief soon!

Also, make sure whatever you choose does not contain alcohol, which is why a children's formula would be a good choice (providing there aren't sugars).

I've been taking Tylenol Cold - I'm assuming it's okay because it's a Tylenol product. I know it has other stuff in it but I didn't notice anything that struck me as being an NSAID. But then, I'm no pharmacist, so don't take my word for it! Maybe ask a pharmacist whether there are any NSAIDs in the other active ingredients. There's an antihistamine in it and a couple of other things when I was looking at the label the other night. Hmm, maybe I should be asking a pharmacist myself.

I decided to crush them because they are caplets and I was worried about swallowing them...OMG, they are vile. I was gagging and retching. It took everything to keep them down. I think tomorrow I will break them up and take my chance with swallowing them.
