I'm almost a month post op and everything leaves a bad after taste in my mouth. I even wake up with a bad taste. Has anyone else experienced this?  Will it go away?

If you are eating mostly protein with very few carbs then you are likely in ketosis. Nothing wrong with that as it means you are burning fat.

Me too, brushing morning noon and night. Also wondering if any sugar free breath mints okay?

I had that for quite a while. It does go away after a bit. I brushed often, and used mouthwash all the time. It is rather annoying, but it's a good sign that your body is doing what it's supposed to be doing.

It can be two things either from the surgery, or your body is probably in ketosis state.

Yay, I'm normal!  It is gross though. Everything tastes off too. Even water doesn't taste the same. I used to drink tons of water now it tastes awful.  Food tastes pretty much the same but everything I drink is yucky. Still trying to find something decent to drink so I can get more fluids in.

Sylvie

I was the same water was horrible at one point it would make me sick. I had to boil it and then add something to flavour it even now 3 months out and some days I still have problems with the taste after surgery our taste buds change. I keep a container in the fridge of water with cut up lemons in it.
