Had to stay an extra day in the hospital - just because looking at Dr.Gmora was addictive...that and a lil too much blood in the drain. All is now well.

Only issue is that the doc discontinued my Atenolol (beta-blocker for high blood pressure) because my heart rate is too low and he says the hypertension will resolve quickly after surgery. Gives me the willies. Especially since when I had my first 1/4 cup of cottage cheese tonight,it felt "high blood pressurey".

I think it is far more likely that I was "full" (completely unfamiliar) and I still have some leftover gas. Although I have completed the "fart dictionary" at least twice now. What a great feeling! Only time in your life when you can share a room, lift a cheek for a quick blast and hear "good one" over the curtain..

Everyone was awesome.

Important to note. Dr. Gmora was very clear that upper right quadrant pain post op was NOT a heart attack. It is gas, and may hang out for a week or more  Heart attacks have other symptoms.

Altogether a great experience, okay, apart from the bariatric food tray. This culinary marvel delights with Carnation Instant Breakfast Diabetic Shakes - which taste SO much worse than Opti, SF jello from hell, and SF Cranberry "drink" that never actually met a cranberry.

Looking forward to way more gas  passing - I can't seem to figure out how to burp- they don't "push out" like at the other end. I just end up swallowing more air to get the burp out - hurts!

I am thoroughly enjoying my first decaf tea in weeks (I can't tolerate tea without milk) and getting my journals ready for the week.

Who knew that giving yourself a needle in the belly was so easy.
