Birth Control Pills

I am looking for a form of birth control that will stop my periods.  I am not worried about the pregnancy thing as my husband is "fixed" but I travel alot and want to make sure I don't get my period when I am on vacation.  Any suggestions?

Hey Monica,
My Dr. just px'd a BC pill called " Portia " for exactly that reason alone. I have very specific instructions for taking it for heavy & frequent bleeding related to the weight loss I'e had in the past 4 months. She px'd 5 pills on day 1, 4 on day 2, 3 on day 3, 2 on day 2, and 1 on day 1. Apparently Portia hasn't any weight gain related symptoms unlike Depo which was the other option. She also reccomended an IUD should the problem persist, however it's not really an option that I want to follow up with.

Depo Vera , stops your period.
Needle in arm.. And off you go. Get it again in three month

I actually just got mine tonight and the doc said, remember don't freak out there is a 99% chance you won't have a period next 3 mths .. Even 5 maybe if I don't get another shot in 3 mths

I hate needles but it is worth it if I don't get my period!!

I chose Mirena for that.  Very light flow off and on for 6 months and then POOF GONE!

I'm on Depo and it's the best. I don't care about those five pounds.

I went with the Depo shots but that made me have my cycles 24/7 for 8 months...lol..so I went with the Mirena and never looked back...you get it in there for 5 years then pop another puppy back in and good for another 5, can't go wrong.  I spot when the cycle comes around but nothing more then that...happy choosing!
