1/2 glass of wine?

Hi all,
Has anyone tried wine after 5 months post op? Going out tonight and wondered if it would be ok to have 1/2 a glass of wine.

I'm only 2-1/2  Postop but i would  Ithink it would be ok  If you take it slow and small sips.  Just remember that Alcohol will act differently than before your surgery.  You may not be able to Even drink it all. 

Going to just try a few sips to start. Will make sure I eat first.

Still after two years I get very tipsy on only a few sips.  I feel my muscles get wobbly almost instantly when I drink wine.  I fare much better with hard liquor, like a rusty nail, but can only handle one drink stretched out over a longtime.  Nit really worth it, so I hardly drink at all now.  And I really do miss it in social situations.

They say NO alcohol for at least a year after surgery... Your liver is working very hard as it is and to add alcohol will make it hard on your liver. Let your body catch up and heal.

For a year? I was told 6 months at TWH....was looking forward to hitting that mark next month :-(

 

I also went thru TWH.. that's what they said at our nut class... they seem to change all the time.

I was told no alcohol for 6 months at TWH.  Two days before my 6 month surgiversary, I had a glass of wine, and it worked out just fine, although it did hit me hard.  I made sure I did it in a restaurant that was around the corner from my house, though, just in case! :) 

Did you have your half glass, and did you enjoy it?  How did it go?
