4 1/2 month reflections

Four and a half months ago, I laid down on the operating table with a lifetime of hopes and dreams floating in my head. Giving myself over to the skilled hands of my surgeon and praying that I too would one day experience a full life. Notice I didnt say happy? WLS does not promise you happiness! It promises to be there to kick your ass if you step too far out of line. Ate too much? Hrre is your 1/2 hour of pain. Couldnt say no to those cookies? Heres a little dumping... still want cookies? ;) Your pouch sleve etc becomes your partner on this journey. Treat it well and it will treat you well. My pouch has helped me down from a starting weight of 285lbs to 188lbs (so far). It has helped me move reach and "fit in"... I can now reach all my 2000 parts with ease, I no longer hurt my knee trying to put on my socks. I can walk the streets in my neighbourhood at a pace of 3.5 to 4 miles per hour. I sleep better. Most of all... I feel better! I still have a long way to go but today I feel amazing. You are responsible for your happiness, you are responsible for your cir****tances, you are responsible to you and your "tool" use it well! I can not wait to see what the next 4 months brings! I am going to be at TWH tomorrow for the day... for my 4 month follow up... I cant wait to share my love for my rny!
